It can be a way to share information, create understanding and build trusting relationships. We may not agree on everything, but when we talk to each other, we gain a better appreciation for one another’s perspective. Leaving aside the value civil conversation could have for our public issues and politics, CSEA believes it is key to strengthening our union. Our union is all of us working together. That means we need to know and respect one another. We share many things in common that need our combined efforts – overcoming challenges on the job, achieving better lives, building stronger communities, gaining fairness and respect. We must not let ignorance and misunderstanding divide us and stop us from reaching better results. CSEA will never quit on bringing you and your co-workers together. It begins with talking to each other. That’s why we have teams of dedicated staff and activists traveling across the state to encourage dialogue about what is really important to you. When you connect more directly to the people and things that matter in your workplace, it generates the energy we all need to move forward. P.S. Please take a look at the information and special incentive on page 20 of this edition.
