Why these awards matter to our union
“It is important to recognize our union siblings,
who really love and care about the members of our communities enough to go out of their way and bring them into the union. This is important work. It not only brings workers to the union to be protected and have the best possible life, but it also encourages”our union members to get active and help grow our union.
— Sirlentor Berry, SCO Family of Services Local, recipient of the 2022 Nadra Floyd Award
“It’s important that all workers have a voice on the job and that we recognize this and our work to expand CSEA membership. Encouraging others to step up, get active and promote membership throughout these awards empowers our union, reminding us that we can help other”people by being active participants in building our union.
— Lisa Taylor, Orange County Unit and Goshen Library Part-Time Unit, recipient of the 2023 Nadra Floyd Award
 “Honoring the
extraordinar y
contributions and
recognizing success
in the work we do
to grow our union
builds power and
strengthens all of
us. These awards are a vital part of showing member appreciation for leadership, action and engagement while also celebrating each other’s accomplishments. When we take time to lift each other up, we” motivate, inspire and thrive.
