Buffalo-Niagara Retirees Local 903 members, with the help of retirees and general CSEA members across the state, recently raised about $3,000 for veterans at the New York State Veterans Home at Batavia through selling hot pads. Local member Ruth DiSanto has been leading the effort through creating the pads, which help cushion hot dishes. The Retiree Local would like to thank Erie County Local activists Gail Sharp and Jeff Brzyski, who made an appeal that resulted in donations of about five boxes of yarn for the pads. Also among those who helped in fund-raising are Retiree Delegates Meeting attendees; Finger Lakes DDSO Local members, led by local President Kathy Button; as well as the Rochester Area Retirees, Livingston-Wyoming County Retirees and Steuben, Allegany and Yates Counties Retirees Locals.
