From left, John Guastella, executive director of the American Heart Association in Albany; CSEA Statewide Treasurer Bill Walsh and Albany Public Schools Interim Superintendent Dr. Kimberly Young Wilkins pose in front of hands-only Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) kits that were donated to the school district by Albany Medical Center and the American Heart Association. CSEA was among the local businesses and organizations that sponsored the kit donations. Albany school officials will use the kits, which include instruction videos, kneepads, pumps and dummies, to teach hands-only CPR to more than 600 high school students. The kits and instructions are part of the association’s ongoing “Life is Why” campaign, which aims to urge people to live healthier lives to prevent heart disease, the No. 1 killer of Americans every year, and stroke. CSEA is a proud supporter of the American Heart Association.
