Rochester—On December 14, CSEA Monroe County activist Carrie Chapman was honored for her contributions to the area labor community at the Rochester Labor Council Awards Dinner. Chapman was recognized as the Apprentice Organizer of the Year.

Chapman, a receptionist at the health clinic at Monroe Community College, is the chair of the CSEA Monroe County Next Wave Committee where she led the effort to collect ‘Never Quit’ cards and was instrumental in educating members about the Constitutional Convention vote last fall.  Carrie is also a delegate to the Rochester Labor Council and has demonstrated an enthusiastic commitment to improving the lives of working families in the Greater Rochester area.

Bess Watts, President of the Monroe County Local, says Chapman is really making a difference. She said, “Ninety-nine percent of being a successful activist is just showing up—and Carrie is always present. She never misses a meeting, an action item, or a mobilization effort and is always willing to go the extra mile. We are very proud of her efforts.”
