Florence Tripi

Rochester — On August 14, before the full meeting of the Monroe County Legislature, county officials presented a resolution and held a brief remembrance service expressing regret on the passing of Florence Tripi, former CSEA Western Region President and the longest serving Monroe County employee.

Flo Tripi began her distinguished public service career with the Monroe County Health Department on July 8, 1968. Flo’s brother Salvatore Tripi and his wife Carol accepted the proclamation from County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo and Legislature President Dr. Joseph Carbone before a packed house including dozens of CSEA members and staff. Flo Tripi recently passed away on July 18 after a courageous battle with cancer.

In part, the In Memoriam proclamation stated, “Flo will be remembered for her dedication, activism and indomitable spirit. She touched many lives and made our community a better place during her 50 years of service.”

After a moment of silence and remarks, County officials told the family a plaque in Flo’s honor will be erected in the foyer of the Monroe County Office Building.
