Monroe County – (June 9, 2020) CSEA has formally announced it is endorsing the candidacy of Jamie Romeo for Monroe County Clerk. Romeo, who was first elected to the NYS Assembly District 136 in the fall of 2018, was appointed Monroe County Clerk earlier this year by Governor Cuomo. CSEA represents more than one hundred employees who work for the Monroe County Clerk’s Office. Primary Election Day is June 23.
Steve Healy, Western Region President calls Romeo a stellar public official. “Jamie has proven time and time again that she has the intelligence, hard work ethic and the creative know-how to take the Clerk’s Office to new heights. She has exceptional people skills— and gets proven results. We wholeheartedly support Jamie’s candidacy and look forward to a very productive relationship.”
“During troubling times like we are now experiencing, it is critical we support and elect battle-tested leaders like Jamie,” said CSEA Monroe County Local President Jim D’Amico. He added, “She respects and understands the value of our county employees and she is a great collaborator. We will do everything in our power to make sure she continues to be our County Clerk.”

CSEA’s Western Region covers 14 Western New York counties, supporting workers in more than 80 locals and 220 units in state government, local government, school districts, library systems, public authorities and the private sector. The region has approximately 46,000 members. There are more than 275,000 CSEA members statewide.
