Health Insurance
The CSEA Health Benefits Department coordinates and oversees all of the union’s contractually negotiated health benefits.

Life Insurance Benefit for New Members
For members who join CSEA after January 1, 2026, you are automatically covered by a $5,000 life insurance benefit through MetLife. This benefit is for the first year of membership at no cost, with options to continue coverage.

Home Insurance
CSEA members can purchase home insurance or get help with existing policies by visiting Pearl Insurance.
Dental and Vision
The CSEA Employee Benefit Fund manages dental and vision for all CSEA members currently working in State Government and some members working for Local Governments (where negotiated into your contract).
If you are a retiree member, you can visit Pearl Insurance for Retiree Dental and Retiree Vision plans.
Automobile Insurance

Disability Insurance

Accidental Death Benefit through NYS
As a surviving spouse, child or dependent, you may be eligible for a $50,000 Accidental Death Benefit from the New York State Department of Civil Service if the NYS Workers’ Compensation Board determines your loved one’s death was the result of a job-related accident.
To receive this benefit, you must file a claim with the Workers’ Compensation Board District Office within two years following the date of death. More details about this benefit are available from the employer’s Personnel Office
