ROCHESTER — CSEA Western Region 6 members braved icy waters at Ontario Beach Park during the annual Rochester Polar Plunge, raising $7,700 in support of Special Olympics New York.
The Western Region 6 team, “Flo’zen to a Cube,” spent months fundraising though basket raffles and member donations before taking the plunge. The team was named in memory of the late Western Region President Flo Tripi.
Western Region Executive Vice President Tim Finnigan, Western Region 1st Vice President Sheri Ambuske and Finger Lakes DDSO Local President Fanysha McCray presented the donation to Special Olympics officials before the team entered Lake Ontario.
