Long Island Region blitz delivers strong member outreach

COMMACK — CSEA Long Island Region 1 recently held its latest Member Engagement Blitz, visiting members on the East End of Long Island.

The focus of the blitz was the New York state gubernatorial and comptroller races and the reasons why CSEA has endorsed incumbents Kathy Hochul and Thomas P. DiNapoli for the positions.

In just 1½ days, 36 teams placed 600 pieces of literature at members’ homes, detailing the candidates’ pro-union history, held over 100 one-on-one conversations, and had 16 members update their contact information.

This timing is a tremendous accomplishment considering the blitz took place in Town of Brookhaven, the largest township in New York state and the second most populated. There was a lot of physical ground to cover and volunteers took the challenge on successfully.

The group was so efficient that the region was able to end the blitz a day early, as all of its work had been completed.
