CSEA delegates started the morning focused on the road ahead for AFSCME.
Patrick Moran and Nicole Pollard joined CSEA delegates this morning to discuss their “Fight Forward” vision for AFSCME under their proposed leadership. Moran and Pollard are running to succeed AFSCME President Lee Saunders and Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride and have earned strong support from across our International union, including CSEA’s endorsement.
Nominations take place today, with elections to be held Thursday.

On Tuesday, delegates heard from retiring AFSCME International Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride.
Also speaking was AFL-CIO President Liz Shuler, who discussed the dignity of public services and the need to keep them public, as well as the challenging state of our economy. Shuler also discussed artificial intelligence (A.I.) and the challenges it presents to working people.
