Patrick Moran and Nicole Pollard have been elected President and Secretary-Treasurer of AFSCME, our International union.
CSEA supported Moran and Pollard in their election to lead our international union. Moran most recently served as president of AFSCME Maryland Council 3 and an AFSCME International Vice President, and Pollard served as a special assistant to Saunders.
Moran and Pollard are succeeding President Lee Saunders and Secretary-Treasurer Elissa McBride, and will serve the remaining two years of Saunders and McBride’s terms, through AFSCME’s 2028 Constitutional Convention.
Moran and Pollard bring decades of experience organizing workers, fighting for strong contracts and advocating for working people, along with their shared “Fight Forward” vision for AFSCME’s future.
CSEA proudly endorsed Moran and Pollard and their “Fight Forward” vision for AFSCME’s future. Both bring decades of experience fighting for working people, organizing and building union power, and leading members through some of the most important challenges facing the labor movement.

Their election marks an important transition for our union as Saunders and McBride conclude years of dedicated leadership and AFSCME celebrates its 90th anniversary.
CSEA congratulates President Moran and Secretary-Treasurer Pollard. We’re ready to Fight Forward together, grow our union and build the power working people need to win at the bargaining table, in our workplaces and in our communities.
