When we lift each other up, we all grow stronger. Recognizing the leadership and dedication of CSEA members who help build our union is essential to our success.  This what the CSEA Organizing Awards are all about.

Two annual awards honor the outstanding efforts of members growing our union through organizing:

  • The Nadra Floyd Award recognizes extraordinary contributions to external organizing campaigns that bring new bargaining units into CSEA.
  • The Membership Achievement Award honors members, groups, units, or locals that have strengthened the union by signing up new members through internal organizing.

Both awards celebrate action, leadership, and commitment to union building. Nominees should demonstrate one or more of the following:

  • Leadership and support to workers or members
  • In-person involvement in organizing campaigns
  • Signing up workers on union authorization cards
  • Participation in strategy meetings
  • Mobilizing others for organizing activities

Organizing new members is one of today’s greatest union challenges, and meeting it requires a strong, unified effort. If you know a member, group, unit, or local that has helped grow CSEA, we encourage you to fill out one or both nomination forms.

Nomination Guidelines

• Nominees must be a member in good standing.
