Family, union fuels dedication to Relay For Life
CSEA Madison County Local member Robb Wojsiat, a social welfare examiner in the county Department of Social Services Medicaid Division, is serving as captain of his “Mad Against Cancer” Relay For Life team for the fifth consecutive year.
For Wojsiat, Relay For Life is
a family affair. He said his family participates in the relay because “we, as a family, just think cancer is awful and hate seeing so many people suffer from such a terrible disease.”
Since 2011, when his wife Tammy captained their first Relay For Life team, Wojsiat’s family’s teams have
raised more than $25,000 for the American Cancer Society. He credits his union for setting an example for community involvement.
“CSEA provides a great example of being there for each other and
for those that need us,” he said. “Relay For Life is just another way to do that, by raising funds for those affected by cancer. Being able to do that with friends, family and other CSEA members just makes it that much more fun and exciting.”

 What is the Heart Walk?
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premier event for raising money to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers — heart disease and stroke.
Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy
living, the Heart Walk creates
an environment that’s fun and
rewarding for the entire family. CSEA is encouraging individuals
and union locals to form teams and participate in the Heart Walk near you this spring and summer. Find your local event at heartwalk.org (Some walks already have CSEA teams established.)
The life you save could be your own.
