Strategic Campaign Coordinator

CSEA, one of New York State’s largest unions, is seeking résumés for a Strategic Campaign Coordinator working from our Albany, New York headquarters. The position reports directly to the Director of Organizing and is responsible for constructing strategy and research for selected organizing and contract campaigns and develops and coordinates field strategy and policy for advancing organizing initiatives in specific industries, companies and/or geographical locations. The position involves travel and overnight stays during campaigns.

Salary: $63,658 with excellent benefits.

The candidate must possess a valid NYS driver’s license and car for business use. Bachelor’s degree in a related field that includes research and analysis coursework and one year of experience with organizing research contract or community based campaigns or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.

Labor Education Specialist, downtown Albany, NY

CSEA, one of New York State’s largest unions is seeking resumes for a Labor Education Specialist. While based in our Albany, New York headquarters the position requires extensive travel throughout New York State. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Education and Leadership Development, the Labor Education Specialist designs, develops and implements education and training programs that meet the needs of officers, stewards and members in regions, locals and units. The Labor Education Specialist is part of the field services available to the regions, locals, units and members and as a professional staff member is responsible for statewide workshops and trainings, regional education committee meetings and regional events on an as needed basis.

Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in human resources, labor relations, political science, public administration or other related field as determined by CSEA, Inc., and a minimum of eighteen months of acceptable full-time experience in providing direct labor relations service, preferably in education and training, in a unionized environment; OR Associates Degree in human resources, labor relations, political science, public administration or related field as determined by CSEA, Inc., and a minimum of three and a half years of acceptable full-time experience in providing direct labor relations service, preferably in education and training, in a unionized environment; OR High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of five years of acceptable full-time experience in providing direct labor relations service, preferably in education and training, in a unionized environment. Experience in adult education is especially desirable. Certificate of Study in Labor Relations from an accredited college or university may be substituted, at the discretion of the employer, for some amount of acceptable full-time experience in a unionized environment; OR A satisfactory equivalent combination of appropriate training and experience as determined by CSEA. Note: Candidates must possess and maintain a valid New York State Driver’s License and personal vehicle for business use in order to be appointed and continue in the position.

Salary is $56,629. The position offers a career ladder with satisfactory performance.

Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist assists the Director of Human Resources in carrying out the day-to-day administration of the Department and implements the Department’s various programs, plans and tasks. The Human Resources Generalist may supervise over the other staff in the Department. Essential functions include but are not limited to: Assists the Director in administration of benefit programs, labor relations, employee recruitment and selection, employee performance management, staff training and development, salary administration, health and safety, liaison with Information Technology department, Pension Plan administration, coordinates/leads labor management meetings, prepares and monitors departmental budget and represents the Director when assigned.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations or a related degree. Three years’ experience in benefit administration, employee recruitment employee relations or related Human Resources functions. OR An Associates Degree in Human Resources or Labor Relations or a related field and five years’ experience in benefit administration, employee recruitment, employee relations or related Human Resources functions. OR A satisfactory combination of education, training or experience.

NOTE: Candidate must possess a New York State driver’s license and car for business use in order to be appointed.
Some travel will be required.
