1. June 23 is Election Day! Sunday, June 21 is the last day to vote early in the 2026 primary elections. Election Day is Tuesday, June 23. If you haven’t made a plan to vote, now is the time. Whether you vote early or on Election Day, make sure your voice is heard! CSEA has made several key endorsements, including: Statewide Tom DiNapoli for State Comptroller CSEA is proud to endorse Tom because he has consistently protected our pensions, stood with working people, and provided strong fiscal oversight for New York State. Region 2 Jessica Ramos for Senate District 13 As Chair of the Senate Labor Committee, Ramos has been a strong ally to CSEA, fighting for Tier 6 reform, job protections, and workplace safety. Antonio Reynoso for Congressional District 7 Brooklyn Borough President Antonio Reynoso has always been a strong supporter of labor and worker rights fighting for good jobs with good wages and benefits. Region 3 Frank Jereis for Assembly District 90 Jereis serves as the Chief of Staff for the current Assemblymember, Nader Sayegh, and is ready to effectively represent the City of Yonkers on day one. Didi Barrett for Assembly District 106 Barrett has been a strong CSEA ally, working to increase funding for mental health, our local governments, as well as fighting for pension equality. Region 5 Dan Livingston for Assembly District 123 As a member of the Binghamton City Council, Livingston helped save the Binghamton-Johnson City Joint Sewage Treatment Facility where CSEA members work. Region 6 Jon Rivera for Senate District 61 During his time in the State Assembly, Rivera has been a strong advocate for CSEA members, including by sponsoring a bill to cap caseloads for foster care caseworkers. Mark Johns for Assembly District 130 Johns was a CSEA member for 33 years and has fought for public sector employees during his time as an Assemblyman and Monroe County Legislator. 2. Hochul Announces Tax Relief Gov. Kathy Hochul has announced that nearly three million New Yorkers across the state will receive over $2 billion in tax relief this summer and fall through New York’s School Tax Relief (STAR) program. STAR provides property tax relief to eligible homeowners and seniors statewide. Most homeowners eligible for a STAR credit will receive a check between $350 and $600. Most seniors eligible for an Enhanced STAR credit will receive a check between $700 and $1,500. Check deliveries have begun and will continue statewide throughout the summer and fall. STAR recipients can visit ny.gov/STAR to track their check delivery or enroll in direct deposit. |
