2025 Year in Review

In 2025, CSEA saw some historic change as our union members continued to stand together to face challenges.

Our union worked with Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration to improve workplace safety at state Office of Mental Health facilities. CSEA also worked with the governor and state legislators to pass a state budget that protects and invests in public services, as well as other legislation that supports working families.

This work became even more crucial as the federal government made devastating cuts — including to Medicaid, SNAP and education programs — that will affect public services in New York. CSEA members across joined in rallies to fight these federal cuts and protect the services that New Yorkers rely on every day.

This spring, Richard Bebo became CSEA’s Executive Vice President, and Stacey Baldwin Deyo became our union’s Statewide Secretary.

Hundreds of CSEA members from across the state came together to receive training and build knowledge during our union’s Statewide Women’s Conference and 115th Annual Delegates Meeting.

In May, CSEA celebrated our members as part of our annual Member Appreciation Month, which recognizes members and all that they do.

On July 1, CSEA began a new era with the debut of a new logo, refreshed branding and newly redesigned website. These changes reflect a modernization of our union as we continue to fight for the rights of working people.

This year also brought moments of sadness with the losses of former longtime Metropolitan Region President George Boncoraglo and former longtime President Danny Donohue. CSEA paid tribute to their contributions to our union and the labor movement.

Welcome to our new website! While we continue to build and improve it, please share any feedback or issues you find.
