Steve Healy

Dear CSEA Western Region Members — On behalf of myself and the Western Region officers, I would like to offer my sincerest congratulations to all members who chose to step up and run for a CSEA office. Representing the best interests of your coworkers should be priority one, and we plan to offer you all the resources and tools you will need to be successful on and off the job. We appreciate your commitment to CSEA and wish you the best in your officer role.

Personally speaking, I’m excited to share that after a very long eighteen months of not being able to hold any large region events in person due to the pandemic, the Region has planned a fun and informative Fall Conference scheduled the beginning of September.

The Fall Conference will be held on Friday, September l0 thru Sunday, September 12, 2O21 at Seneca Allegany Casino, 777 Seneca Allegany Blvd. Salamanca, NY 14779.

The agenda for Friday night is a delicious sit-down dinner and an opportunity afterwards to meet both the region officers and several of the statewide officers. A social will follow with cocktails (each attendee will receive two complimentary cocktails/beverages and then a cash bar afterward) so you can mingle and catch up with your fellow officers in the Region.

On Saturday, after a buffet breakfast, the morning will be filled with officer trainings for all elected positions. In addition, two mini trainings on conducting union meetings and new employee orientations will be offered in the morning and afternoon.

We also have a wonderful buffet lunch planned and a fun basket raffle in the afternoon to help support our Region Polar Plunge teams. Information on the basket raffle and polar plunge are attached below.

After the basket raffle, you are free to enjoy your evening on your own. Sunday morning, after our breakfast buffet, we will have our general business meeting. All are welcome to attend; however, should something require a vote, only Local presidents are eligible to do so. Instructions on how to register for the conference are included below.

As always, if you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to reach out to me at either Region office 716-691-6555 (Amherst) or 585-277-0800 (Rochester). I hope to see all of you at the 2021 CSEA Western Region FalI Conference.

In solidarity,

Steve Healy
