The Social Security Administration recently announced it will be implementing a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) for Social Security recipients of 5.9% beginning in January 2022. According to reports, this COLA is the largest increase in the past 39 years. The increase will help more than 70 million recipients keep up with rising costs.

In addition to our public pensions, Social Security is one of the most important retirement security programs allowing workers to enjoy a well-earned retirement. CSEA and our International Union, AFSCME, are constantly lobbying through our PEOPLE Program to protect Social Security benefits from being reduced in any way.

If you receive Social Security, or ever plan to, maintaining the stability of Social Security through political action is one other way our union works to protect your future.
