E. SYRACUSE — CSEA Region 5 congratulates the four recipients of our 2018 annual college scholarships!

CSEA Central Region President Colleen Wheaton recently wrote letters of congratulations to winners Ethan BillmanMara Frisbee, Molly Kotzin and Adam Poupore. Billman and Frisbee received the highest rankings and were each awarded a $1000 scholarship toward their college expenses. Kotzin and Poupore each received a $500 scholarship award.

The four were selected by our Region’s Member Services Committee out of many applicants, and ranked based on their academic standing, extracurricular scholastic and community activities, and essays they wrote.

 

 

Ethan Billman of Bellville is the son of Local 823 member Nicole Billman, who works as a teacher’s assistant for the Belleville Henderson School District. Ethan plans to attend Paul Smith’s College.

 

 

 

 

 

Mara Frisbee of Downsville is the daughter of Local 013 member Michael Frisbee who works as a maintenance assistant for the NYS Division of Military and Naval Affairs in Syracuse. Mara plans to attend SUNY Potsdam.

 

 

 

 

 

Molly Kotzin of DeWitt is the daughter of CSEA Communications Specialist Mark Kotzin, who works out of our union’s Central Region Office. Molly plans to attend the University of Pittsburgh.

 

 

 

 

 

Adam Poupore of Weedsport is the son of Local 647 President Mark Poupore, who works as a campus worker at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. Adam plans on attending Syracuse University.
