CSEA Lead Organizer Geordie Pierce and CSEA President Danny Donohue get out the vote for our endorsed candidates, including Gov. Andrew Cuomo and State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli, in downtown Albany during the morning rush hour on Election Day.

On Election Day, CSEA members showed our power by getting out the vote.

We weren’t alone. There was a record turnout of voters for this year’s midterm elections across the United States. Our state was no different, as New Yorkers came out to vote by almost 2 million more votes than the last gubernatorial (midterm) election in 2014.

In addition to extremely high voter turnout, this election also saw a record number of women and minorities running for Congress and statewide offices throughout the country.

Across New York, hundreds of our members volunteered their time and energy to work hard on behalf of our endorsed candidates, as well as urge other union members to get out and vote.

Across the state, many of our union’s endorsed candidates were successful. Gov. Andrew Cuomo was re-elected, as were Lt. Gov. Kathy Hochul, State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli and U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand.

Many of our endorsed state legislative candidates were also elected, as were many Congressional candidates from across the state.
