One of the reasons that CSEA has been so successful for 106 years is because we Never Quit.
When we formed our union in 1910, we did so to ensure that politicians didn’t play fast and loose with public services and public workers; to make sure that essential services were delivered on the basis of merit and fitness.

A century later, our core mission hasn’t changed, but our challenges are greater than ever, thanks to politicians and corporate leaders who want to take away everything that we have earned.

As retirees, you make ask, ‘why does this matter to me?’

Simply put, it matters because these people who want to gut the wages, benefits and other gains from our working brothers and sisters also want to cut into your pensions and health care.

These misguided political and corporate leaders think that your retirement security, including your pensions, Social Security and health care, are far too generous. They fail to see that not only have you earned everything you have, but your retirement security is in fact a key factor in your communities’ economy.

As we have seen with Wisconsin in 2011 and employer attempts to cut retiree health care closer to home, we can’t afford to take anything for granted. We will fight hard for your retirement security, but we also need you.
You are key to our efforts to Never Quit, including standing alongside your working brothers and sisters as we face the fight of our lives. We cannot accept politics as usual and we cannot accept corporate greed that marginalizes retirees and working people and undermines the quality of life in our communities.

Get involved and be active. While the future is uncertain, one thing we do know — when we stand together and work together, we are stronger together.
