When CSEA endorsed Gov. Kathy Hochul for re-election earlier this year, we did so because she had demonstrated a commitment to working with our union and delivering real results for working people.
During the months since, the governor has continued to build on that record.
Most recently, CSEA members overwhelmingly ratified a new five-year contract covering more than 55,000 state employees. Working together at the bargaining table, CSEA and the Hochul administration reached an agreement that includes annual salary increases, improvements to health insurance, increased location pay, paid prenatal leave and new workplace protections. It represents a significant investment in the state workforce and reflects what can be accomplished when labor has a willing partner in government.
Since CSEA announced its endorsement, Governor Hochul also signed legislation making further improvements to Tier 6, continuing our union’s long fight to restore retirement security for public employees.
Her administration has also stood with CSEA on other issues that matter to members across New York, from expanding work zone speed enforcement cameras to better protect highway workers and supporting safeguards against artificial intelligence replacing public employees, to investing in education and local governments.
CSEA’s endorsements are based on results, not rhetoric. Governor Hochul has shown that she understands strong services depend on a strong workforce, and her record reflects that commitment.
Progress happens when union members organize, advocate and elect leaders willing to work with us. On November Nov. 3, CSEA members will once again have the opportunity to support the partnership that has delivered for our union by re-electing Gov. Hochul.
