CSEA member volunteer activists, officers and staff recently connected with members at their worksites and homes as part of our union’s ongoing member engagement blitzes.
In the Capital Region, volunteers spent three days in Columbia and Greene counties. Hundreds of members spoke with volunteers during worksite visits at Brookwood Secure Center, Cairo-Durham School District, City of Hudson, Town of Greenport, Greene County Office Building and Hudson Central School District. Volunteers also visited members at their homes.
Member volunteers and staff also spent several days in Steuben County in the Western Region. Worksite meetings were held at Corning Schools, as well as in Pulteney Park directly across the street from the county courthouse, so members could come out on their lunch breaks to meet with our union representatives and vendors.
Conversations focused on workplace issues, union priorities and the importance of staying engaged and informed. The strong participation from activists and members made the week a great success and reinforced CSEA’s commitment to being a member-driven union.
The blitzes were an important opportunity to meet members right where they are, hear their concerns, answer questions and strengthen our union members’ connections.
“It was a huge success,” said Western Region President Steve Healy of the Steuben effort. “Our teams knocked it out of the park.”
