CSEA delegates continued to stand strong during the AFSCME 47th International Convention.
On Wednesday and Thursday, delegates conducted important union business and attended workshops.
On Wednesday afternoon, thousands of AFSCME members from across the country rallied outside Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium in support of Shedd Workers United/AFSCME and their fight for a fair first contract.
Shedd workers won their union more than two years ago, but they are still fighting for fair pay, adequate annual wage increases and a higher pay floor for new hires.
CSEA delegates were proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with Shedd workers and send a clear message: Workers who make the Shedd Aquarium a great place to visit deserve a fair contract that makes it a great place to work, too.
Solidarity means showing up, and AFSCME showed up in force for Shedd Aquarium workers!
