WILLIAMSVILLE — Gov. Kathy Hochul recently met with union representatives from CSEA and other unions in Western New York to discuss how her administration can continue to support union members.
Western Region President Steve Healy and CSEA Political Action Coordinator Chris Rackl represented our union.
Healy thanked Hochul for her work in reforming Tier 6, securing the strongest State Contract in 30 years and enacting the LOADing Act.
Rackl urged continued action on several CSEA priorities, including 207-c protections for probation officers, 25-and-out retirement for 911 dispatchers, panic buttons for caseworkers and Age of Supervision reform for CSEA/VOICE members.
Hochul, who CSEA has proudly endorsed for re-election, took the time to listen to each union leader. She also discussed her administration’s progress and plans to continue advancing her work.
“[The] meeting reinforced the importance of labor having a seat at the table and working with elected leaders to deliver meaningful improvements for working people,” said Healy.
