CSEA entered a new era on July 1, when our union transitioned to our new logo.

The new logo, along with a newly redesigned website, are part of a significant rebranding of our union to modernize our image while we highlight CSEA’s growing and diversity.
The logo was officially rolled out through a news conference and event at which our union showed off the new sign on CSEA Headquarters in Albany.
The logo replaces the longtime CSEA logo, which was last redesigned in 1989. In addition to a new, modern look, our union is also incorporating several new colors, green, white, black and varying shades of blue, which replaces the previous dark blue and red.
To begin this process, CSEA spent more than a year surveying members, hosting focus groups and engaging in real conversations with union members from across the state. Our goal was to understand what CSEA means to them. This allowed us to gain a renewed and better understanding of our identity as a union.
What we heard was clear — members want a brand that reflects CSEA’s strength, boldness, and unity, delivered with a modern, fresh look and feel. The new branding was directly shaped by the voices of our union members.
To help in this effort, an outside marketing agency worked with several departments of CSEA to develop and design not only a new brand but the website too. Together, they put forward the collected ideas to a statement of a powerful, unified union that fights for those who keep New York standing tall.
The implementation of the logo was developed by our union’s branding team, consisting of but not limited to, Statewide Secretary Stacey Baldwin-Deyo, Long Island Region President Jarvis Brown, Capital Region President Shana Davis, Westchester County Local President Hattie Adams, Buffalo Psychiatric Center Local President Lovy Mootry, Rochester Area Retirees Local President Bernadette Giambra, CSEA Long Island Region Office Manager Jennifer Nagy, CSEA Deputy Director of State Operations Neil Kelly, CSEA Deputy Director of State Operations Robert Scholz, CSEA Director of Purchasing Dan Ventresca, CSEA Director of Member Benefits Elizabeth King, CSEA Senior Counsel Eric Wilke and CSEA Director of Communication Bryan Miller.
There will be three phases in which the logo will begin to implement itself:
Phase 1: Digital platforms switch over by July 1, 2025
Phase 2: Most printed materials phased in over time through July 1, 2026
Phase 3: Permanent structures updated with new branding following further planning and budgeting
While the second phase will span over the next year with the third phase following, phase one has begun already through the launching of CSEA’s newly redesigned website, rebranding done on all social media platforms, and it will be incorporated into all printed publications planned after July 1, new membership cards, and replaced on materials needed for upcoming and future events.
Members wanted the new design to showcase who we are as a collective, and this logo allows us to do just that. It is bold and vibrant, catching attention, standing out, and reflecting the strength and energy of our organization.
The new website mirrors the logo in its striking personality, working as a complete remodeling of the original website. Through its bright color palette, smooth, effortless navigation, and years of information updated to fit how we run today, the new website acts as a guiding step into a modernized CSEA.
“This is a new and exciting beginning, but I ask for your patience as we continue to build out the website pages and transition through each planned phase,” said CSEA President Mary E. Sullivan. “This undertaking will take well over a year, but together we can make it happen.”
