MOUNT SINAI — CSEA Town of Brookhaven members and guests were “Freezin’ for a Reason” at the Polar Plunge at the town’s Cedar Beach.
The group not only raised donations leading up to the plunge, but also collected additional funds by working with local vendors to provide food and beverages for plungers in exchange for a nominal donation to Special Olympics New York.
As this edition went to press, the group raised about $2,400, which will sponsor four Special Olympics athletes for one year.
