ALERT NEW YORK’S LEADING UNION CSEA President Danny Donohue to meet Capital Region members on June 23 President Danny Donohue will visit the CSEA Capital Region on Tuesday, June 23, to meet with members. The meetings will be held at the Capital Region office, 1 Lear Jet Lane, Suite No. 2, Latham. Statewide treasurer to step down McMullen to sing a new song For nearly 40 years, Joe McMullen has been dedicated to doing the right thing for CSEA members with a practical approach and a song in his heart. McMullen, an electrician by training and musician by calling, recently announced that he will step down as the CSEA’s statewide treasurer when his term ends early next year. He has served in the post as the union’s fiscal watchdog since 2007. “It has been an honor to serve CSEA members and I have made so many wonderful friends and had incredible experiences through my activism in this great union,” McMullen said. “CSEA has a lot of challenges ahead, but we are better prepared than ever and I’m proud to have been a part of the hard work to make us stronger. People need to know that there’s nothing we can’t accomplish when we work together.” “Joe McMullen is one of the most capable and caring people anyone could ever meet,” said CSEA President Danny Donohue. “He has led by example throughout his CSEA involvement, and I am personally very grateful to him for his dedication and service.” Before serving as a statewide CSEA officer, McMullen was a leader in CSEA’s SUNY Oneonta Local. Outside of CSEA, McMullen has been a musician since he was 13, performing and writing music, including participating in a local worship team. In addition to singing, he plays guitar, piano, banjo and CSEA Treasurer Joe McMullen, an electrician by training and musician by calling, performs. McMullen is married and has two married daughters and four grandchildren.
