CSEA Family:
Local 837 Orleans County, comprised of all the towns, villages, and school units in Orleans County (see below), has been under administratorship and without active leadership for more than two years. Our union is only as strong as the people who step up to lead it.
Every time we fight for a contract, defend a coworker, or push back against unfair treatment, we rely on strong, committed leaders at the local level.
Leadership doesn’t come from titles – it comes from people who are enough to make a difference and who know what it’s like to be on the job and the on the front lines.
If you’ve ever looked around and thought “We can do better,” then you’re exactly who we need.
Running for office in your Local isn’t about being perfect – it’s about being present. It’s about standing up for your fellow members, making sure everyone’s voice is heard, and helping guide our union forward.
We need people who are ready to listen, learn, and lead with integrity.
Solidarity starts with action – and action starts with leaders like you.
Why not you?

While the Units each have their own executive board, the Local also has one and that is where the positions are vacant. While the Local President role covers all the Units, it is less demanding than a Unit President role as it does not involve handling grievances or negotiations. The primary responsibility of the Local Executive Board is to assist and support the Units.
